2nd May 2026: The choir will perform
Elijah in this 70th anniversary year of
the Choir and will be conducted by
someone well known to us, James
Southall. 2026 is also the 180th
anniversary of the first performance of
Mendelssohn's oratorio. The Jersey
Festival Choir was formed to perform
the 'great works' such as this. The
Choir first sung it in 1958, but this will
be our first performance of the work
since 2006.
Singers may join the choir for the half
year to sing this with us - rehearsals are
on Wednesdays at 7.30pm at Jersey
College Prep School.
